Ben Bernanke, wohlwollender Diktator

Die Kongresswahlen sind ausgezählt, das Ergebnis ebenso klar wie bedrückend: Obama ist den Rest der Legislaturperiode kaum noch handlungsfähig. Insbesondere kann er total vergessen, ein weiteres Stimuluspaket auf den Weg zu bringen.

Ob einem das gefällt oder nicht: So ist das halt in einer Demokratie.

Ist das so? Ist nicht so. Sagt Ben Bernanke. Und gibt mit kühlem Gleichmut bekannt, dass die Notenbank für 600 Milliarden Dollar US-Staatsanleihen zu kaufen gedenkt.
